ok i wanted fish for my tea tonight,now i normally get a slice of cod,but they hadnt got any so it was haddock but tbh it didnt look very appealing so i settled for a big slice of whiteing.I asked the wife in the store is whiting an actual fish she hadnt a clue.so thats my question.what is whiting?she says its just the same as haddock but cheaper lol is there such a fish as a whiteing?

ah does have that cod look about it.well be nice to try it now,as cod is my fav and be good to taste the comparrison.the price of cod is shocking these days,but i guess its a dangerous job those fishermen have.i never buy fish from the chippie in scotland you get a thin slice and the rest is batter.however always get a fish supper down in england when im there.always get a large thick slice of fish down there.we should adopt that up here.

No way do they deep fry cream eggs? That's mental!

 

yea ive seen them :icon_eek: guess if you were paying for it,they would deep fry anything for you.

If you ever get the chance to go to Granton on spey try the chippie their if i remember rightly greeks own it best fish and chipps i have ever had in my life.

last chippy i was in in scotland they asked did i want sauce she had a bottle which looked like vinegar i said yes when i tasted it was like vinegar and brown sauce mixed together whats that all about the chippy was bathgate town centre
