The first thing that needs to be addressed is the real truth about terriers, money, and quality!!! THE COST OF THE TERRIER DOES NOT A DAMN THING TO DO WITH HUNT DRIVE, LOCATING-FINDING ABILTY, STAYING

No more than £150................ for a bitser lurcher..     A tinney winey bit more for the wifes Pedigree GSD.......

iam not saying everbody has got money .in these hard times.,.but you have on average 17 weeks to save up from when the bitch is lined till you pick the pup up ..thats plenty of time to save a couple

Borderscot, how come you paid vat?

Hancock charged vat in the 1980s when he first started out Baw?

That's what I thought mate, cheers

Aye - all a long time ago now? Dunno when he stopped the vat - didn't know he had until I visited in December?

£500 for a well bred coursing pup & also £400 for a pure saluki

Is that the going rate then mate?

the going rate is £300 to £500 for a well bred coursing pup...its up to the people if they want to pay that...i dont think £200 is out of the way for a well bred lurcher ..not saying i would charge that but if your selling to somebody you dont know ..at least you know they are willing to part with a decent amount of money so they will be willing to put the time in.,...if i ever had a litter i would just charge the rearing fee ...to people who i know would give the young pup the best start in life and to people i didnt know they would pay what i thought they where worth...and that amount is what ive wrote above...anybody can raise £200 up to £500..ANYBODY...you cant get a decent tv for that..and a lurcher running dog will give you a lot more pleasure then any tv... the going rate anythink mate . u pay for what you get for . its like a pup from barney is anywhere from £750 to £1500 thats just a pup upto 16weeks old .

as snoopdog said coursing dog better watching tv lol , when your out with your dog and its catching 2's,3's,4's and 5's hare's & you can feel proud because you know youve put all that work into the dog

I agree with that snoop

iam not saying everbody has got money .in these hard times.,.but you have on average 17 weeks to save up from when the bitch is lined till you pick the pup up ..thats plenty of time to save a couple of hundred quid,..not being funny but if you cant raise that sort of money in seventeen weeks then maybe they shouldnt be thinking of getting a running dog...just my opinon..
