How much have you paid for a dog?

Recommended Posts

I agree with that snoop :thumbs:

iam not saying everbody has got money .in these hard times.,.but you have on average 17 weeks to save up from when the bitch is lined till you pick the pup up ..thats plenty of time to save a couple of hundred quid,..not being funny but if you cant raise that sort of money in seventeen weeks then maybe they shouldnt be thinking of getting a running dog...just my opinon..

ditto :boogie::thumbs:

The first thing that needs to be addressed is the real truth about terriers, money, and quality!!! THE COST OF THE TERRIER DOES NOT A DAMN THING TO DO WITH HUNT DRIVE, LOCATING-FINDING ABILTY, STAYING

No more than £150................ for a bitser lurcher..     A tinney winey bit more for the wifes Pedigree GSD.......

been threads about how much would you sell your dogs for recently. I'm wondering what's the price you've paid for your dogs and what age were they? I've only ever bought pups starting at £50 in the 80's to £150 more recently. So, what did you pay and do you think the more money the better the quality?

I know where you can get one for £1500 :angel:

paid over 2k for greyhounds for flapping but the most on a lurcher was £800 but wasnt happy so swapped it with the vendor for a bitch i could have bought for £500 and she turned out the best bitch i have ever owned on longears real top class coursing bitch. but most of the time i breed a litter if i need a new dog .

Most i ever paid was 200 for grown dogs already lamping when i was at it 24/7 only while my own were knocked up was lucky enough to have a decent dog when i started out cost 40 quid as a pup he kept me in stock whilst he was alive and favours from friends who still have the strain now hes gone has made it possible that its still with me now.

Always tried to keep the line going just bought in an outcross off a lad i didnt really know well did me a big favour as he could have doubled the price how shes bred.

I just like the whole pup thing and enjoy entering young stock but if i was dogless and it was to get me out 300 to 500 isnt a lot to pay for the right blood although id probably have to break the law nowadays to find it quick but theres always a way to make a few bob out of the countryside :thumbs:

The first thing that needs to be addressed is the real truth about terriers, money, and quality!!! THE COST OF THE TERRIER DOES NOT A DAMN THING TO DO WITH HUNT DRIVE, LOCATING-FINDING ABILTY, STAYING, AND IS A LONG FECKING WAY FROM HIS HEART, OR ROUGHLY TRANSLATED IT DOES NOT HAVE SHITE TO DO WITH HOW HE WILL PERFORM IN THE BUSH!!! :nono::nono: YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT!!! :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Take a stroll through some of these website kennels here on the W.W.W. and look at some of the prices for pups!! Up to $1000.00 US on on some sites. Would I pay that? NO, fecking way! That is truthfully robbery by the peddler, and stupidity or ignorance by the gullible buyer. I have in the past bought terriers and to be perfectly honest they were NOT better than the terriers I payed a hand shake for, in most of the cases they were not HALF as good as the terriers I was gifted. Why?, I can and will explain.= Because the man whom gifted me terriers put his heart and soul into his line. His intentions with every breeding was to create better workers, always striving to improve his line of working terriers and does so out of pride. Workers are all he breeds regardless of how they might be bred. A pedigree wont find, enter,engage, and stay till dug to, but, a worker will!! Now the man who puts ridiculous price tags on terriers. Believe what you choose but, any man who sales terriers for PROFIT is a PEDDLER!! POINT BLANK!! He breeds every bitch in his kennels every cycle with the sole intention of selling the pups. Breeding young un-tested bitches on their first cycles and claim the pup are bred from generations of workers.. Where is the pride or honesty in this?? How is this improving his line or in any way?? How is this going to help preserve the working terrier in general? It is nothing more than one big viscous cycle that is a fecking plague to the working terrier! Fecking Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder could see the real truth and what money is doing to the working terrier. If anyone here thinks they are remotely getting good workers from any of these peddlers, then you are in for a rude awakening when you finally pull your head from their arse and aquire a terrier from someone who is honest and still takes pride in their line of workers. Good luck to anyone willing to spend their hard earned money with a website kennel or aka peddler and expect to get a REAL GRAFTER. all the best chaps
