if worst come to worst I would have them stay here , as they are my families as much as mine , however i would want the lad I run with too keep grafting them if possible, even just to keep there hand

baldrick

Just curios at how much you would sell your fully working lurcher if you had to give up?

Mike

lurcher £1500 --- terriers fully working 100 % £600 .. gundog switched on fully working £1500-2000 ... bushing / ratting terrier £350 - .. thats just my view on a working dogs value and going on what i know lads have paid .. i`ve heared of show terriers going for 5k plus and show pups £350 .... i know of someone who paid 2k for a show winning bag chaseing lurcher ... and terriers going abroad for upto 10k ... having said that the 4 terriers i have here would go to mates for free if for any reason i had to pack em up.... my interest in terriers is not driven by money never has been .. It a depends on the breeding off the dog and how good a worker it is in the field.

Just lamping or ferreting dogs you get for next to nothing.

A dog for things that bite back a 100% dog will go for few 100 pounds.

A coursing dog a dog killing 1 and 2 each time it is out could pay a few £100 as well.

Think the dearest you pay for lucher is a coursing dog a (match dog) could pay a load £1000 for the right dog.

Im just talking about a good all rounder. Bit of ferreting/lamping/coursing etc. Not a top coursing hare dog. I understand that top coursing dogs go for silly money. I personally would just give to a friend. I would not expect a load of money for an all rounder dog.

tbh i wouldnt sell my dog.if i had to part company with my dog,i would find someone i trusted and knew they were good to thier animals.also someone that i could go and see the dog whenever i wanted.when it comes to my livestock thier welfare comes before any amount of cash

money comes and goes good dogs come in many forms not always written in performance, there is more to lurchers than simly the best ones, that bond cannot be valued
