lets get to the rust spots first :censored:

ive noticed just below my scope rail, there tiny little spots popping up, how do i go about making sure that it stops at tiny and not big old rust holes?

and secondly, id like to get a gasram conversion for my lightning XL but if i did it, well i may aswell save the 70 pound and put my rifle in the bin. anyone local to me that could help me out here? :whistling:

i can pay in beer or money haha

(dont say money) :boogie:

Two ways with rust spots.

1. TIN FOIL.

Use a bit of tin foil and a little gun oil and rub it off.

2. WIRE WOOL AND GUN OIL.

Take a piece of fine wire wool with a drop or two of gun oil on it and gently wipe the affected area.

In both methods it'll take away the rust and restore the blueing, no problem.

Morning Sean,

I would also suggest the tinfoil approach. A little bit scrunched up, rub affected area and put on the oil :)

I wouldn't try the wirewool trick myself though, simply because I am a litlle ham fisted and I would no doubt take the whole bluing off :icon_redface:

do the gas ram yourself mate, the hardest bit is removing the scope rail.if taking the rail off use a g-clamp with a bit wood to protect metal put enough pressure on clamp to squeeze it toward cylinder then tap the cylinder forward taking care not to ruin the rubber gasket between scope rail and cylinder and reverse order for re-fitting.job done.as for rust old wives remedy is to cut a potato in half and rub to remove rust, might work
