uploading a picture

iv tried a few times to put up a few pics of my dog but having a bit of trouble,its keeps telling me the pixels are too large to upload the pic so i tried a pic off my fone but same story.any help appreciated.

I right click the photo and then open it using Paint - then resize it down to about 500 pixels -save the changes- it will go on ok then there probably are other easier ways to do it, but thats what I do.someone told me this
