You've just been sent here to torment me, haven't ye? I'm well known on this board as the worlds biggest failure at ever coming up with a single bloody mink, and you come in here and show me things like this? ;)

Ok, as I'm up late and so have found this Post first, I'll kick off with the obvious questions: First shot. What are we supposed to be seeing? I can make out some silvery looking bits. Makes me think of wires. Or are ye out to demonstrate how well there's a Foot Hold buried there? Same goes for the second. Have ye taken the mink out of something. Re set the something and are again showing how it all looks when the next one comes along?

And is that a natural hole, or one ye've poked out to arouse el minko's curiosity? Maybe I'm just hallucinating all this because of the late hour? I don't mind making a fool of myself. I do that every time I announce I'm off to have another crack at catching one, single, poxy mink!

Third shot? Lost me completely. Must be like one of those pictures that, if ye stare long enough, and just so, ye see leaping dolphins. All I can make out is what looks like blood, on the sticks to the left. Wire?

Fourth shot? If that's blood ~ and I can't think what else it might be ~ then I'm further guessing that those cut sticks are part of a fence? So that's the run, between that and the pale grass to the right? F*cking hell! Could ye honestly see that as a run, if you hadn't seen it for real and I showed that shot? Because, if ye could, I'm off to breed Koi Carp or something! (No. Then again, bad choice. Mink would come after them and I'd doubtless prove completely powerless to stop them! )

Excuse the self denegration. But read my earlier threads. I think ye'll agree; If the cap fits .....

As for your mate and that mass of foxes ....? Words fail me! How in hell ....?!? :icon_eek:

Crikey... a few fox's there :icon_eek: Bet there were a few curtains twitching with that lot on the lawn. Just goes to show how many of the feckers are around... 1200.The pile would probably be twice that height if people were allowed to do something about the number of sodding badgers!

As for those mink... you'd have enough for a full length coat in no time :D

Very humane, clubbing the poor f****rs,I dont think the last photo is necessary,a pic of a chap just about to bash the brains out of them.I do realise it may be legal where your from but its really not necessary to highlight the method you use to finish them off.My young son aged 11 was sitting with me reading the posts and was slightly upset with the thought of your modus operadi(spelling?).i did a bit of bluffing and explained the dammage foxes did to native wildlife but is the pic really necessary to show.I'm not an anti, far from it but I think discression is the best option here. The rest of the photos aren't a problem. Now I wait for the avalanche to come.

Hang on a minute, lads ..... I never knock another mans sport or methods, as long as they're not likely to cause undue suffering. (I'm not like some people round here ). Ye should have heard me in Chat last night though, when we got round to " Glue Boards " for rats and mice! Believe me, I'll 'Go' when there's cruelty involved!

Now, I'm basicly a brit. I thus probably share ye sensitivities. But let me just add something here which I obviously have nothing to gain from. Ok?

One; Those are North American 'Steel Traps'. Please don't for a minute confuse them with " Gin Traps ". Gin's had teeth and, in my considerable experiance of them, far less powerful springs than the US stuff. Ours relied more on the teeth to hold.

The traps ye seeing there would have smooth faced jaws. Many even " Laminate " them. That is they weld on a broader jaw face. Think of catching the foot between two planks, rather than two bars, if ye like. And the power of the springs - believe me, I have them and I know - is collossal.

Up shot? One of those babys fires and the sheer shock to the foot will likely numb it. Then the awesome grip cuts off the circulation. Result being ye usually see captured foxes fast asleep, in the trap, and only waking up when the truck comes along. They can't even feel that foot. Never mind suffer pain from it.

Regards the pick axe handle? Aye. I was about to ask if he used a .22 Pistol. Many do. Then I saw that and moved on. Not to my tastes either. BUT:

When I used to dabble in Taxidermy, an old British Gamekeeper said he had a fox for me. On examining the unmarked corpse, I asked how he'd despatched it. " Oh," He said. " I just tapped him on the head with a bit of stick. "

I thought no more of that, till I skinned the thing. Skull was completely splintered! That 'Tap with a stick' would have dropped that fox stone dead before he even hit the floor.

Like I say, Not to my asthetical tastes either. But, believe it or not, most likely faster than a .22 round between the eyes.

Anyway. I'll f*ck off now and stop interfering in another mans Thread. Just thought I'd give an informed view from one of ye own.
