need advice on a new dog.

so iv been thinking about getting another dog after my other dog got killed on the road last week :( he was turning out to be a handy little lad be it just wasnt to be...wasnt thinking of getting one so soon but heard of a lad getting rid of his 10 month old 3/4 hound 1/4 wheaton bitch due to collage...my friend has the litter brother an its turning into a smashing dog..my question is do you think about getting a pup at this age??..even if it has some faults could they be put straight as its only 10 months old???...would like to hear you views on this please!

if i was gonna take on a dog that wasnt a puppy,(6/8 weeks) then it would be around about the same age as pup you mentioned,

but id say go an see pup spend a bit of time, maybe walk it for a while that way you will get to know if its got any major issues :thumbs:

I would go for it mate, if it's from decent stuff and the cross that you want right enough. I got a dog at a year and a half that was chasing sheep, wouldn't jump and was really spooky but it was from good stuff and I saw potential in it so I took a chance and spent the summer working on it, come the autumn, the spookiness was gone, it was jumping great and stock broken. Add that into it that it was catching nearly everything it chased. If you put the time in and persevere with the problems they can b worked out in my opinion.
