secretagentmole 1,701
Set up Dr Syn on the range today, zeroed at 32 yards, as per Hawke BRC recommendation. Used the Longridge Pin Point to set the distance. Shot a few paper targets and convinced myself he was ready to ride out and thought, hey I have not been on permission number 1 for a while, so phoned them up and set up an early evening shoot. Got there and walked down the access track, kits everywhere. Loaded up, cocked, got the pinpoint out, 56 metre range, aim with bottom point on x8, hold, fire, kit over, lock on second, aim, fire, down, lock on third, aim, fire down, then the rest legged it back down the burrows. Now I had been in contact with Ron Weasley off here as he would like some ferret food if he is in the area, texted him and he was, 3 kits were handed over. Now this is paddock land with horses in and it is being over run with cotton tails. I introduced Ron to the permission holder and he has been given a permission as well! I do not mind, I am not the only shooter to go down there, one more will help keep the numbers down! So having set Ron up with a permission and having said goodbye I went back down, large rabbit hops out of hedge, 41 metres away, set scope, aim, fire, down! This scope and laser is a lethal combination. Three more kits followed but Ron was on his way back home so they have gone in the bin (it is a shoot all and remove from property permission). 7 in a couple of hours, ok so 6 were kits but I am enjoying the challenge! Idiot left camera at home, but ron can personally vouch for 3!!! Edited May 7, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
They were not very big kits, Ron had the bigger ones for the ferrets! The big rabbit is dinner on Monday night, not chucking that! Sorry should have said that, got plenty of rabbit recipes to try! Edited May 7, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
Shepp, I have a couple of recipes, 1 that is perfect in a french mustard and white wine sauce, the other is a french rabbit stew in a white wine gravy with mushrooms and celery and bacon, though the book is that old it does not take into account the stronger taste of modern bacon. Going to cut down the number of rashers put in (was 3, going to 2) to see if I can avoid the bacon swamping the rabbit flavour, maybe use a traditionally cured rather than supermarket chemical crap cured bacon! shepp 2,285
I like the sound of that moley, bacon is a common addition to rabbit reciepies. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Shepp once we have got the recipe working will email it to you, also has loads of button mushrooms in as well, goes well with new potatoes and asparagus! Edited May 7, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
I'm not trying to be a dick, but can't you at least chuck the bodies into the woods / hedge, so that something can make use of them, rather than putting them in a plastic bag and then into a bin? Also baby bunnies pan fry nicely with some bacon, mushrooms etc. Quote Link to post
