Ideation 8,216
If your dogs get game then that is illegal and you are a very naughty boy! Not the messiah! lol. I cannot personally see how you can stop a dog getting ground game! If the dog is quick enough by the time you see what it is doing it could be too late! The damned law was written by townies anyway! What you do with the game after you get it is your own business which I cannot criticise! Like in deep sea fishing, you get a cod that is 2 inches undersize that has been winched up from 300 foot down, it will die, swim bladder gone, no use to anybody as you can't keep it, even though it is good food, has to be thrown back! Aye and that's f*****g disgusting isn't it. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
It gets my goat right royally that does, the damned thing will die, but because it is too small you cannot land it! What is the point of chucking it back? Not going to survive, just food for the sea chickens! Could have been dinner that! Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83
As of now Moley, anything that you shoot and don't have a use for I'll gladly take off your hands - my ferrets will be greatful. Every little helps and all that, and the freezer stock is depleting slowly. Thanks for the permission mate. As I said on Saturday, not sure I'll be able to get over that often, so I shouldn't get in your way. Sam Quote Link to post
torchey 1,328
When the kits are under 5 inches long along the spine there is less meat on them than a chicken nugget! I was asked to remove all kills from the property, not to lob them in the ditches, I do as I am asked! No photos taken as I left the camera at home and score, well now I have lost count! If you do not want me to post my hunting write ups simply say and I will stop posting! If you can use the rabbits use them, don like waisting anything myself but wouldn,t lose sleep if they wasn,t worth keeping....Good gesture getting the other fellow on there Quote Link to post

They counted 18 rabbits on it the other morning, in a 20 metre stretch of the access track! The owners will be very thankful of any time you can put into it to keep the numbers down! Next time we get a load of kits we will arrange a meet or come over, whatever! Do not like binning things people can use and now I know roughly where you are we can arrange a meet if you are not over at work! Pleasure to meet you! Mike the Mole View of the permission... Middle left with the light coloured rectangle (dressage type area I think) to the Stable type building halfway down is a hot area, then you have the bottom corner, 2 thirds the way along at the top of the photo, that is another hot spot, there are runs all the way through the fencing on all edges! The bottom paddocked area does not usually have horses in and makes a good prone position shooting point. The bottom right of the picture is the airfield and is used by powered paragliders. You will find the permission owners very friendly and happy to have you shooting! Edited May 9, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
