Terriers in Falconry

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone on here uses terriers in falconry for bushing rabbits etc and how you rate them compared to spaniels, pointers etc. I have a patterdale that works well above ground that i have used, suppose the only draw back is that she will go to ground if allowed & maybe has not quite got the stamina that a HPR dog has. What are your opinions? Cheers, Rich

my parson russel will bush and mark(warrens) very well under hawks,

he runs on (into the chase) but doesn't bother the hawk at all ( his manners with charlie are not so good!!!!!!).

top little dog and i wouldn't swap him for the world!!!

i am getting a slovakian pointer for work under the gun and hawks( if i get the hawk back that is!!!!!!!) and hope she will run as well with both as the wee shite does.

Flew a female red 15 years ago with a JRT, all ok for the first half hour or so. But if no game seen, she would nail it.

Tried for a couple of weeks but the same kept happening, in the end got myself a springer and she never tried to nail that.
