NICE FEW HOUERS

Recommended Posts

Set out to the permission with good freind mick last night about 5.20pm, chattinging in the car micks saying what a good felling he has about tonight,,,,,turns out the man was right....

not 10 feet from the car and theres the first bunnie dam it,guns not even loaded, few yards further on and where at the point where we zero, place the gun on the floor and theres two more hoping around 60 or so meters away,

right lets get these zeros checked and get on with it, all sorted no wind to report and a lovely warm evening zero spot on at 30m.

not 15m up the first feild and theres number on for mick sat out at about 10m easy in the bag,,

to the feild where i plan to be theres a small wiled feild that is over grown with nettals and the likes, one step and a snapped twing later and it seams as the the entier place has just given it legs, oh well cant shoot what i cant see. quick scan of the feild and there every where, just then i hear the crack from micks gun, look over to see him grinning and giving me the two up sign..

got my self lay downover looking a large warren with another behind me, not 5 mins in and i look over my shoulder theres 5 of them out at ranges from 20-70m.

thwak, reload thwak reload thwak, wow 3 in less than a minuet this is going to be a good night, just cant belive they dident run off..

wont go in to detail to much on the rest dont want to bore you all, best shot of the night 60m easyest at about 8m..

total for the night 8 for me with a couple more getting back down holes, and 4 for mick. not to shabby for 4 houers work, on a beutifull calm and warm eve. was a pleasure to be out last night.

all the best lads.

did get a pic but its so poor its not worth putting up, dam crap camera phone.

Shame the pics didnt come out to well for you.

We had a good bit of rain here last night, with the old thunder and lightening thrown in too.

Great read Andy  And sounds like an idyllic evening's shooting for you and your friend. Some nights out in the fields are such pure magic; I wouldn't miss them for anything; even if I came home without so much as a cotton tail scut. I love to watch low sunlight play over and across the landscape, lighting it against a dark grey sky of thunder and rain, and whatever wildlife comes your way, even if you are forbidden to shoot it or, you have the full go-ahead. Don't spare details mate, people like to read of a good hunting foray; with or, without a bag of bunnies. If there's some dissenting voice who thinks it's boring, bollocks to him. Let's see his write up make a better read!

Bet you 'owt you never will mate

Keep writing of your shooting mate.

All the best.

Simon
