How much exercise for a pup

Recommended Posts

had my pup 3 weeks now he was 10 weeks old yesterday, i walk him loads it wont hurt them imo. good food exercise and plenty of fresh air can only do you and the pup good.

in 7 of his walks i have walked a total of 45.5 miles. he is developing well both mentally and physically as exercise promotes growth hormones. as long as your pup enjoys there self i dont see any problems

1st walk 6.7 miles

2nd walk 4.3 miles

3rd walk 2 miles

4th walk 5.4 miles

5th walk 10.5 miles

6th walk 8.3 miles

7th walk 8.3 miles

me the pup and the older dog are benifiting from the exercise. the pups doubled in size and weight in 3 weeks.

f**k OFF :rofl::rofl::rofl:

its true mate. distance is measured by a gps watch for running, down to 100th of a mile.

But why??? A pup needs to waste its energy running, jinking, pulling things, playing, etc, etc, etc, not f*****g walking. Is this all on hard roads? Your doing untold damage IMO

some of its been on stone tracks around the wood but most of its been in the fields. he gets to play plenty with the terrier. hes getting a damn good education and experiences things that will no doubt come in handy when he is a adult dog.

You had a pup before that you've done this with? A dog that still did the job in its 6th,7th,8th season? I want you to be honest mate.

yes mate hes lay in front the fireplace buy my feet as i am writing this, hes just over 6 1/2 yrs old. born sept 14th 2004 got him at 8 weeks old done took him out lamping straight away hes done plenty of work. ive always gone lamping with a bloke thats always taken his dogs out from 8 weeks since ive been a young lad. seen the results and what it does to the dogs time and time again.

it puts a old head on young shoulders.

Its only going to cos frustration in my view. Look mate, I can tell your not daft and who the f**k am I to tell you to do something that you find works. A lot of traditions become outdated in all activities, its called progress so they say. I just dont see the advantage mate. Plenty of time to let a pup mature, let its bones harden, it muscles strengthen. Plenty of good dogs have been ledt to mature and I dont see any reason to change that but good luck in your methods mate, just wouldn't condone it to anybody new to the sport with a pup, impatiently reading this.

Theres been research on both sides of this some top vets believe dogs are like gold fish and thrive in a larger environment. Which is what i believe ,These walks are alot better then shoved in a pen for most of day where different types of damage can be done and trigger is right to a point exercise in pups do release more growth hormones but on the same point puts a catabolic state on pups so sleep is just a important to recover. As well as good food to help shift from the catabolic state, and get the benefits but one thing to keep in Mind it is also a proven fact that even tho these early hormones do increase growth ,and progression can be swifter but later in life most dogs pick up more injurys slightly easier That have been put threw this process younger. This is what my dad always told me. And he's been a top bio chemist researcher who researches and test performance products for dogs and horses so he knows his stuff lol well I hope haha lol
