ferrety f 23
I have not had this happen so asked elsewhere, its not normal for a jill to come back in when rearing a litter. She may have an infection or hormone inbalance.. either way i would get her seen by a vet if she was mine, how old are the kits ? Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Yer that was my thought, if it happened i'd be more worried that it had happened than what to do with it. If that makes sense. Quote Link to post
Leeview 791
all this experience and no ones got an answer? jill jabs and vasectomised hobs will take a jill out of season only for them to come back in season 42 days later coincidence that that is the same length of time as the gestation period Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
ferret lady 73
It's not uncommon for a jill to come in heat if she's nursing a small litter. She should go back out of heat on her own in a couple weeks. Quote Link to post
Guest alcapone
It's not uncommon for a jill to come in heat if she's nursing a small litter. She should go back out of heat on her own in a couple weeks. I asked the same question last year,id a jill rear 3 kits and came back in use whilst rearing kits,i waited til the kits were up and feeding well then when they were 7wks old i put a vac hob to her and all was sorted,i didnt want to risk knocking her out of season with the hob before and upsetting hormones even more and her stop producing milk or something drastic. All was sorted and ended once mated 2nd time to vac hob, never had any experience with the jill jab. Quote Link to post
