how long did it take you mate i read somewhere it can take upto 8 hours, dont fancy standing their spinning a pig for that long. was thinking about a wiper motor but their not really designed for constant spinning for that long especially not with the weight of a pig on, id be worried incase it burnt the motor and the pig ends up burnt on one side.

The one we done when I was at scouts (years ago) was a hand one, and we turned it every 15 - 30 mins and we each done a shift of an hour or 2 each and that worked quite well :)

that sounds like the best way to me, ideal for involving the kids :thumbs:

Hello mate sorry didnt keep up with the thread it takes about 5 hours for a 25/40 kilo pig and the taste you would kill for the cost of the pig depending on where you get it from is about £55 if you pm me i could possibly show you some pictures
