Foxgun Tom 75
It appears that the SNP will hold the majority of seats in the new parliement? with this in mind there will undoubtably be a referendum put to the Scottish electorate on the matter of Independance!!! In the year 2014 there is a lot of sporting and cultural events happening that year, one of the most significant is the 700th anniversary of the "BATTLE OF BANNOCKBURN" I think Alex Salmond (Wee Eck) will use this anniversary as the focus of the indepedence issue. The anniversary of Bannockburn and the referendum I believe will coincide in 2014? Tom myself and "Wee Eck" Tam Can We Trust Wee Eck,on hunting and Firearms Leglisation as they want to have a bigger say on some U.K.wide issuses, the S.N.P has its' fair share of Liberals and Antis as most other Partys' You can't trust any politician on anything, shooting brings a tremendous amount of revinue into Scotland and every scottish political party and politician knows that! I personally believe in an independant Scotland! once that's achieved the SNP's job is done and hopefully well' then have a different truly Scottish socialist government looking after our intrests, every government in recent history has put restrictions on country pursuits and fcked up animal welfare issues! eg: anti hunting, tail docking legislation I think hunting as it is at the moment will stay the same in Scotland fortunately our legislation is a wee bit better than south of the border in relation to working terriers but lets not be complacent! Tom PS: from what I've read on here "BRIG o' LEA is cancelled! Edited May 6, 2011 by Foxgun Tom

Do you think there should be an age cut off from people being allowed to vote on matters which will seriously affect the future of the next generation? Its a scary thought that a lot of people who have a bee in their bunnet can gamble with other peoples lives............
WILF 46,881
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I do not have the same mind set as some moron who sends bombs or bullets through post or the same mentality! I'm a protestant and a member of the Church of Scotland who just happens to be married to a catholic lass for nearly 35 years, so! I know all about bigotry and political divides and hate those fkin concepts, its also interesting that you describe major developments in Scottish history as bullshit! Did Scotlands history stop when the union of the parliaments happened (I don't think so) I'm also a nationalist not a republican, there is a difference! If a Scottish First Minister in Scotlands first devolved majority government, gives me a say in what constitutionally happens here I'll take advantage of that and vote accordingly Three major parties based south of the border would not give me that opportunity!! Scotland's history, culture and languages is not founded on a Hollywood movie that was factually inaccurate to a large extent! It's founded on its people!! wether it's 400 years ago or today! thats not a romantic notion its fact! I'm also very much pro-England and English, love the place and the people I've had some of the best times in my life in Englandshire Tom As I thought I made clear I absolutely DO NOT think you would support anything like that, I was just making the point that all of that crap stems from ancient history that is best left in the past. I beleive the Scots sacked York, but you dont see the people of York getting a few folk together to say Scotland should be cut off from the rest of the union.....its gone man. Its your dream and thats fair enough, but my personal opinion is that deviding this nation any more is playing onto the hands of those who would seek to rule all of us in some other way. And I think the future of Scotland will be poorer for it as it will for us all

RicW 67
Taken from the Independent:- The SNP already have a draft bill to hold a referendum in Scotland on independence. They have not previously presented the bill since they lacked a clear majority. They now have a majority and are planning to present the bill within 12 months. If it is passed, they will spend three years working out the details. They will then approach Westminster and open negotiations. No serious objections are expected from Westminster.
