secretagentmole 1,701
Mrs Mole was quite happily browsing through ebay, then she spotted an apparent bargain! A Longridge Pin Point Laser Rangefinder, new, boxed for £70. This little unit runs on a CR23 battery and is a monocular device. Will range up to 500m, with an accuracy of +/- 1m at this range. it has a 6x lens and uses a non visible laser. Pressing the front button activates the sight and the display is LCD. It has a centre target and strength of return meter! Press the button again to get the range and then you can read off. It is encased in rubber, which is non reflective and has a good grip too. It is an easy device to use and we have ranged it over known distances up to 50m, been very accurate. It also powers down automatically (no off switch). I look forward to pairing this with Doctor Syn, getting the scope set up perfect and then attempting some long range bunny shots. The average price of these is around the £120 mark. Good reviews on them on golf sites as well, so we have got a little bargain. Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
there'll be no stopping you now moley, them rangefinders make a huge difference for long range shooting, especially from a static position i've found theyve extended my shooting out to 50m-ish when the weathers right and made a huge boost to my confidence. good luck with it, cheers, wurz Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
I know it is doable Davy, if you look at my thread Dr Syn Rides Out, you will find that using the scope alone I was nearly dead on target using maually measured (ie paced) distance for 60 metres! This RF though is the mutts! Compact, light, easy to use, it is a peach. Combined with Hawke BRC software this is going to mean I know the exact flightpath of the pellets from Dr Syn, start of the long range paper fest now, have to get them both set up and calibrated to each other! Going to be a fun summer! Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Update to original message, used for first time on my first permission tonight, was able accurately shoot rabbits that were 56 metres away tonight! Damn this is good. Quote Link to post
