Cur pups

Recommended Posts

Cheers for that mate, interesting info, i'd love to see them work. Do different 'types' of cur have different working styles or applications (i.e different quarry, land etc).

IDE- here are few of my vids nothing special just to get an ide

Out of interest why cull by color? Not knocking, just curious?

He just busting my balls Doc has owned allot of yellow "curs" in his life time :boogie:

Seriouly its really color prefrence, I dont like the yellow curs as they reming me of a lab and mostly thoese Kemmers come yellow. But if the stand out pup in the litter is yellow that color takes a back burner to the performance end.

Cheers for the vids mate, in that first one those yellow dogs look pretty damn keen. Was the pig shot as well, or brought down by the hounds? And in the second, i have respect for any dog that chases a fecking bear!

Glad to hear it was just a joke on the color, we all have preferences, but i was worried it was some kind of 'breed standard' which we all know is bull shit when it comes to color, like they say, a good dog is never a bad color.

I did think that bitch had the look of a lab x  Kind of looks lab/pointer/bull/hound (blood?) or something.

Do you own many?

I'd love to try one, got a few ideas that it might work on them boar we seem to be tripping over these days, but you'd ever get a working line here.

Atb matey,

Jai.

See this is fine, but what i want ti know is if i'm NOT using a catch dog (i.e the one you have mentioned) but am using a baying dog (like the curs mostly) then is it illegal. . . . i'm not hunting it with dogs i'm just flushing / baying it. . . . . and then shooting or sticking it?

Yes mate, i get what you are saying.

BUT.

I'm just interested to know how baying dogs fit into the ban?

Cos it's not exactly flushing, but not exactly catching.

I'm just interested out of curiosity.

In general there are no people here anyway, so it doesn't matter

how is a baying or bailer any different to a sheep or cattle dog doing their job. all they are doing is finding it and keeping it in the one place without holding it. plenty of fellas use kelpies and boarder collies for bailing pigs over here.

f**k me this is getting hard work.

It isn't any different to collies.

What i wanted to know is where that stands legally.

I wasn't talking about importing pups to do it or anything.

If i was going to do it i would be using welsh hill collies.

as it stands if you got caught you'd no doubt get 'animal abuse',but if the dog control bill comes in then this along with almost all working of dogs will be illegal.

Alright genius, how am i starting to sound stupid?

It's a simple question.

Hunting with dogs here = ILLEGAL.

Flushing with 2 to the gun = NOT ILLEGAL.

So, all i'm asking is where does 'baying to the gun' come - Illegal or not.

NOW HOW THE f**k IS THAT STUPID SMART ASS???

I believe the staghound packs of southern England hunt the same way ideation. Bringing the stag to bay to be shot by the huntsman. Probably best to look into the legalities of English stag hunts. I believe it to be illegal...
