squirels

i have recently moved from Scotland to Leicester and there is an abundance of grey squirrels, my dog now constantly scans the trees for them and when he spots one he trys climbing after them, does anyone know anyway i can stop him and keep his eyes on the ground? cheers Ingram

i couldnt say its such a bad thing him looking around it shows u have an alert dog maybe concentrate on stoping him trying to climb by showing him something more intresting at times when he does go for it, he will soon give up when he knows he hasnt got a chance

No expert but I would break the dog the same way I would break an older dog to ferrets, have him on leash and give a good tug and a sharp NO until he gets the message, I doubt you,ll stop him from taking an interest but this may help to some degree, atb

cheers, it doesnt help when they run across the path infront of him then dart up a tree as if to say come get me haha, i will give it a go and see how we get on, cheers for the advice and would be intrested to hear any other methods that have worked for people in the past, ingram
