iceman001979 1,316
Mines would be a wee deerhound whippet called (Bitch)got her when she was about 2 year old fella had her for hares but she had problem with her left leg when turning so l got her for ferreting. Didn't think her leg was that bad when turning because she caught me loads off rabbits and few hares in her time but she was great on foxes. 1st time l found this out was when were out digging one morning and she went missing thought she got smell something and took off. After an hour dig when we got down to the terrier there she was in grabs with the fox she did this on a number off times and we actually dig her once. Hit by car at 4 year old when out doing cover was this last week up at the square trees ,when you where ferreting ,and coursing hares dont know where you live or what your drinking but square trees lol and coursing not me ferreting yes Quote Link to post

bird 9,927
Well ive had a good think about this, and as ive had lurchers 25 years +, alot of dogs come to mind, some good+ bad. But i do think Bryn my 1x collie grey is prob the best of the lot, not because of is hunting abilty, as his catches speak for them selves. Its because he as good temp, very easy to live with, quite, very loyal, great with people, good with dogs. Ive took him to lots of places, where he as met other lads+dogs, and he as (never) let me down with his hunting or his behaviour. He is like alot of colliexs, that they have sensitive nature, which can piss you off at times . He is great with my 3/8 bull 5/8grey dog pup Tod, he puts up alot with him, as Tod is rough 69lb puppy lol. Funny thing is though that Bryn is protective of Tod, even though Tod is a bigger dog! So as mate+loyal pal, not just hunting i think he is a dog that fits this post . Quote Link to post
