barny1 0 Posted February 13, 2007 Report Share Posted February 13, 2007 My laki x was about 11 1/2 months old and hed mark a rabbit ,rat fox but he didnt seem two keen to enter earths SO what i did was didnt force him to when my experianced dogs had a fox in a block end id pull the other dog out and put him in and every time this happend i did this and thats how my laki started off and hes coming a very good dog :thumbs-up: seen many a terrier ruined hole enden the c**ts seen good dogs come out an wait around the dig mark not good advice foxlamper in mybooks Quote Link to post
Guest Eamon.Mc Posted February 14, 2007 Report Share Posted February 14, 2007 Again this is just an opinion, I'd say 2 - 3 stopends is enough, after the dog has seen these stake it out don't even let it rag the carcass after digs, then as has previously been said if you get a bolter in the net or dig to one then let it go back to ground and let the dog follow. Too many stopends can put a dog off entering, it's much easier to face a quarry in the light than in the dark alone. JMO. Quote Link to post

Guest big bull x Posted February 14, 2007 Report Share Posted February 14, 2007 we had a dog who saw to many stopends and the wee fecker then thought that was his job and wouldnt go to ground lent a russel dog to my mate as he was stuck for a dog come back exactly the same seen to many block ends it was put on the plate for him didnt want to find them, hes no longer with us Quote Link to post
