mickyatch 37
I know it is still legal to bolt foxes to the shotgun in aid of game bird protection but what is the situation for lamb protection ? Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
It is illegal to use a terrier to ground when protecting lambs. However, if the fox is shot and injured and a terrier is being used for humane retrieval/tracking and they both end up in an earth then you have got to dig down and rescue the terrier, if you believe he is stuck. Once the terrier is out of the earth then i believe it is legal to shoot the fox again to despatch it, and to end any un-nessesary suffering. That is my take on the law as it stands at present. But I could have misunderstood it. Hope this helps. Quote Link to post
