"Earth!" 503
who is with me on the following. As we all know OUR sport is on the brink of make or brake. Its a fact this forum amounst others is viewed by anti fieldsports, another fact, some members are TOO open with threads, comments and photographs! how about mods either remove the said member or a warning and then gone! I know its hard to police this as its easy enough to rejoin under another user name etc but then should they be found out to be a once banned member, then they are removed again, and again.........

knocker76 40
i think you can ban their ip address so they can't join under a different name on that address

Yep. I'd also like to see the promised crack down on text talk. I often report posts which remain unchanged and you never get any feedback from the moderators. The moderators are quick enough to ask for help, but often fail to act (or let the reporting member know why they aren't doing anything) which makes it a waste of time. Only this morning I've seen at least half a dozen posts using text talk. I haven't bothered to report them because it seems pointless. If there aren't enough moderators to police the site properly, then appoint some more. As for deleting the dicks; just do it. If you log their IP numbers, it wouldn't take much effort to delete them when they re-register. They would soon get fed up with it and disapear over to Jacksshed or one of the other 'couldn't give a fcuk' forums. This place desperately needs sorting. It's not the forum it used to be.
scothunter 12,609
to be fair i think the majority of lads know the text talk rule, but having said that.its so steeped in our eveeryday use these days, that i honestly think the odd one that gets through is a mistake. My ban today would be terrier.man. He's a total cock, and not for the first time his posts paint terrier work in a very poor light. I wouldn't worry about the antis. They, and the authorities are probably already members who just don't post. Also bear in mind that this site ranks very highly on google, and anyone can view it without logging in. If the site was properly policed by the moderators, and the members thought about what they posted, then nothing on here could be used against us anyway. The problem is that since the ban there has been an increase in the number of people who just don't care. They think that they are safe from behind their keyboards and don't care about the future of fieldsports. This is a big forum, but proper moderation shouldn't be that difficult. It would be alot better with a quarter of the members, and ten times the number of moderators. Look back and see how many decent posters have given up and gone elsewhere. Also ask yourself what happened to all the moderators; they've either left, or they are just 'normal' members now. For example, ChrisJones, JohnB, Deker, etc.
Guest jt750
I run a non hunting forum and using the software i use if you delete a member the email address is deleted the name is deleted ip number is deleted so its pretty easy to re register using the deleted details. I have ban triggers in place which means if you are banned your name your email address and your ip number cannot be re used to re register. Yes i know you can refresh your ip number and get a new one and there's lots of free email addresses out there but its a start. It could be an idea not to ban these people but to restrict what they can do ie start new threads ..post... read certain boards etc

I understand that, but if they were made to edit and correct their posts by the moderators, then perhaps they would remember in future. I'm all for zero tolerance of rule breaking. You often find that the worst offenders are also the dicks that need to go. Perhaps the moderators should give them 2 hours to edit their mistake, and a warning if they fail to do it. The fact that so much of it is ignored by moderators and members alike just makes it more likely to be considered 'normal'. Whatever happens, it's frustrating when the moderators come on here and ask for help from members by using the report function, and then ignore the reports they receive. Feedback to the reporter should happen as soon as a decision to moderate (or not) is taken. Members would then be more likely to be vigilant in future. Edited May 3, 2011 by R. scothunter 12,609
i get your point, but at the end of the day if some tit wants to put up something that incriminates himself, well it just goes to show what a tube he is.id take it as a sign of avoiding telling or sharing anything with the said person.the mods to remove posts when they see them.then again there posts get removed that leaves you feeling WTF! but i guess they have thier reasons.just sometimes i wish they would share those reasons.i think its not a bad site at all considering the amount of members.yea there are idiots and shit stirrers but thats just the joys of forums mate. The topics about hurting our sport by clowns putting up stupid photos. It's not about naming people you don't like or reporting some poor sod cause he uses text talk ff's (deliberate before I get reported lol(and again)) you see we can all remonstrate about what people do that annoys us, it's a public forum!!!

So you don't think that the moderators should enforce all the rules? I didn't think it was 'off topic'. The whole point is that this forum is not what it was, and lots of decent members have left. Why do you think that is? Yes, the 'clowns' that post some pictures, and make some statements should be deleted. The problem is that the moderators (with the help of the membership) then need to make sure that they can't re-register using a different name. The fact is that these people are damaging fieldsports for everyone, especially the next generation. We all know that stuff from here has been copied and often used out of context to promote animal rights. The problem is that there is a faction that just don't care, and never will, and in my opinion, we don't need them and shouldn't give them a platform. Some of the people who post crap will get the dawn knock at the door; but by then it's too late; the damage is done, the content is copied, and will likely be used against us all when the next big public debate takes place (either when we finally get a repeal, or when the animal rights lobby start pushing for more restrictions). Yes, I do get cheesed off about the text talk, but what annoys me more is the lack of enforcement of that (and the other) rules.

rocky1 942
r.docks the reason the mods might not have givin you any feed back when you reporting people for useing text talk might because the reportbutton is not for that and not for a members 2 report another member about it thinks its down 2 a moderater 2 pull any members of text talking the only reason anyone would report someone is somethink is directed at you,me personally would,nt bother useing as its only the net and would just let the shit go over my head
