Guest ladyjane
The club is going into it's 3rd year of showing and racing, we do not have a rule that says KC papers are required, but our rules state that if questionable breeding of any dog applying to enter to either show or racing arises, the club has in place three championhip show whippet judges who will determine if the said dog has the characteristics of a pure bred whippet or not. The decision of these three committee members is final. Edited May 3, 2011 by ladyjane
pigsy 34
Is there a breed standard ie height weight they must go by some standard ie the kc must have a height limit for bitches and dogs the whippets I have seen at some of the game fairs are pushing close to the under 23s in height and weight They comittee should have just cause to stop a persons dog run other than they think it does not look like a whippet
Guest ladyjane
Well, those are the rules of the club, and in entering any of the club events you are also agreeing to abide by them. I agree there are some massive whippets out there, but they are still whippets, height alone is not a sign of a non purebred. The club is trying to make things as fair as it can for everyone, but the aims of the club are to promote the purebred whippet as an all round dog, hence why all events are for whippets only.
