Guest jt750

do me a favour then mate, im aboot to go an walk the mutts an hit the sack,

is there any chance ye could gee me a brief description of why a tumbler is a tumbler?? :whistling:

I read somewhere (don't ask me where ..i'm a font of all useless information) that the tumbler had a different style of running to a lurcher. A lurcher will lurch from side to side whilst running its prey ..anticipating where its going run to cutting off the hedge line would be an example. A tumbler is a dog that gets behind its quarry and stays there waiting for its prey to make a mistake or picks it up when it gets to it..resulting in some spectacular strikes and lifts but frerquently takes a "tumble" doing so. Seemed a reasonable enough explanation at the time. At least better than the sandy rough coated Norfolk type of legend ...
