Bedlington whippet

Recommended Posts

110.jpgMines still a young she's had a few rabbits on the lamp and done ok ferreting, nice easy dog to have about and has started to work well with my terrier, she's 3/4 whip 1/4 beddy.

Theres been a few threads on here about them put it into the search top right hand corner.

I got mine for a little rabbiting dog and I'm sure she'll do fine at her jobs, ferreting, lamping and general mooching/bushing. My brothers got a first cross and she is a bigger set dog not a lot taller ( around 20") she'll start next season.

A lot of lads have got them on here and most seem happy with them, but they're not everyones cuppa teathumbs.gif

iv never seen one work but seriously thinking of getting one myself, prob go for a 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy, hopefuly make a handy little lamping dog, have seen a couple beddy/grey but both were yappers which is slightly off putting so guessing they need treating with kid gloves so to speak when starting them off,il have to wait and see till i decide for sure

iv said this loads of times,THEY ARE A NOVELTY ROMANTIC LURCHER.

most people have got one cause a fella called Claud had one in Adernsfeild.

get a strait whippet or if you really want to catch rabbits get a bed x greyhound much more versatile and will handle a nights work far better. or to be honest most 23 to 25 inch lurcher to lurcher with a shaggy coat if thats what you like.

im only saying what iv seen and expereinced, i owned one 12 years ago she was exactlie like a bed whippet.

I breed her out of a bed whippet dog to a 25 inch lurcher bitch I had myself too fetch the size up a little.

there was a few usefull pups out of litters and mine was good. BUT she finnished only 19 t s taking after her sire for size coat and build. she didnt touch fox even though her parents were both 100%. but was a good rabbiter but I know she would have been a top bitch on lamp and ferreing if she was another 5 inches taller.
