DIDO.1 22,846
Anglezarke moor is gone, there will never be grouse shooting on what was once a great moor ever again. It gets burned often but usually only one side goes at a time giving the grouse somewhere to go. This time its all gone. One of the big plantations is also well burned. Thought I also saw Darwen on fire but not sure. The fire brigade are useless. To be fair with the wind it would of been difficult but they say they are only there to protect houses, which are safe anyway! Its just a day out for them to play with their new gear. The news says its not suspisious, bollcocks! its nob heads who have nicked their dads lighter as it always is. When one goes up just watch the moors next door go in the same few days as lighting fires catches on with nobs in the area next door.

cragman 2,791
I could see smoke from the Woodhead valley, Londendale earlier from home. Just in time to ruin the nesting season for all the ground nesting birds. Terrible news.
gnipper 6,546
I was wondering if there was a moor fire or something as we could see the smoke from where we were fishing today and its miles away from there. It could have been the simonswood one we could see though

Nobody has any redlegs up there. To be honest iv only seen wheelton from a disrtance so it might not be as bad but i really do expect that all to be gone as well. DIDO.1 22,846
Talking to a mate who was up on healey nab which over looks the burning moors. Apparently he saw 3 different lots of people who were sat up there watching the fires who had lit camp fires and bbqs while watching square miles of moor burn. I give up!
