Hi guys, I was wondering if you could give me tips on moderators for my .270 sako...

I am going to choose between the T8 (huge but slides down the barrel) and the Jet-Z (highest sound reduction and doesn't scratch barrel, but longer than the T8).

Can anyone give any experiences with either of these? Also how much did they cost you? My gunshop wants £250 including installation, which seems a bit steep...

Alright mate, I used to use a T8 on my .308 but found it a bit bulky, After selling the whole rig i bought a .243 and put a P.E.S Mod on it , Find it alot better not so heavy and alot slimmer on the rifle being just a bit bigger than a Varmet Barrel. And around £200-£250.

Hope that is of some help ? :):)

The full length PES is actually heavier than the t8 , but its stainless steel. £250 is a good price for the lot, the mods are around £210 - £220. The zet-z is good, but its muzzle mounted only, which is never ideal. Two points of contact, as in a reflex type mod, is always gonna be safer, as a couple of turns loose, and its still safe, whereas , a couple of turns loose, on a muzzle mounted can, can be disastrous.

Over time, the barrel bushing can cause wear to the blueing, but this is generally considered to confirm that the bushing is of the correct tolerence for your rifle barrel.

I would be more worried if I had no marks to be honest! :)

Simple cure for this mate, get whoever is fitting it, to machine the delrin bush to be a tight fit, so when you unscrew the mod, it unscrews both threads, and leaves the bush on the barrel. This is what i do on mine, as i had a sako blued barrel, ruined by a badly fitted mod. Some say a tight bush [fnarr fnarr :D ] affects accuracy...i,ve never found it to be so.

Hi i have a .22.250 rifle would a t4 be suitable on it whats your opinion thanks

The t4 will fit the 22.250 ok and will work fine, but the t8 will be better at sound suppression, due to the extra baffles, if your looking to cut down on weight and not have the weapon too heavy then the T4 will be fine. Also take a look at the A-tec range of mods fully strippable and better sound suppression, lighter slightly narrower, but slightly longer by about 2" i think. but slightly more expensive.....
