pianoman 3,587
I say the crawl and the shooting was text book mate. It doesn't always go our way, or how we like it. But a 46 metre is nowt' to be sniffed at! It's always a buzz when you land a beauty like that one! Always great to see what you and Shannon get up to, as well as! with your Darryl! SPA from me mate. watchman 256
hi lads well me and the bairn headed out again this afternoon for a couple of hours and it just goes to show not everyday is the same enjoy the video atb gary dont take this the wrong way mate but seemed a lot of faffing about, stalking that rabbit that was already aware of your presense,ok you walked it up then got down into a slight bit of dead ground but it still new you was there, all that crawling only to sit up at the end of it to take the shot which is when the bunny done the off and your dissapointment although obvious, was to me to be expected, surely stalking is about the quarry not being aware of you at all if possible,id be sticking to the fence line if it was me,just my observation mate not up for a row or anything if you leopard crawled like that on half a dozen bunnies youd be totaly f****d,id need a week to get my breathe back which surely would then affect your shot, just saying. obviously good shot at 46m along the fence line, certainly nothing to be sniffed at so fair play for that, very good shooting Quote Link to post
festa 206
hi watchman i see where your coming from mate normally we lie along the fence line (as you saw on the kill i did get)but at that time when the rabbit presented itself we were in the middle of the field .. the way i look at it was if i didnt crawl i would not of getting close enough to get the shot off the fact i completely cocked the shot up is just the way it goes my book ...the reason i had to sit to get the shot off was down to the layout of the ground i was in a dip and couldnt see the bloody rabbit lol with regard of the rabbit seeing me that might be the case or it might not of however i presented myself and took my time in a way if the rabbit did see me it wasnt threatened because if you look at the video you will see the rabbit move away from the fence into the field if it was me as a threat it would of been long gone but like ive always said its part of the game and it doesnt always go our way atb gary Edited May 2, 2011 by festa Quote Link to post
