I understand why you need to keep check of the fox on shooting estates. But for some reason total annihilation of everything using N.V and a rifle, whatever the species, whatever harm they cause, just don't feel right. But i tell you what, i'd much rather a man be doing that in that way because he is protecting his livelihood. Than someone doing it as sport Taking photos of their kills, and sticking it up on a website to get a higher 'score', and to try to impress folk with their 'bags'. Well mate, like me am sure your no the kind of guy who puts down another mans hobby...? I shoot every fox on site, yes that's right and I don't go looking for every den either because that's life. Of I could would I wave a magic wand and rid the cubs, of course o would buy lifes never that simple If I give up rearing pheasants will I shoot another fox, doubt it, no point! Actually mate, i'm quite happy to put down another mans hobby. Something about the mid night cowboys who just do it for the numbers and the kill. Like I said I'm a hypocrite I will happily kill every fox I see but I won't kill rabbits and hares out of season and refuse to shoot does in the last month of the season cause the roe are so heavy. I just find it strange that you mentioned killing their own sport but when fox are mentioned your eyes glazed over and the red mist descended. dan mate you kill foxes because it's a must. THLpatrick 555 Posted April 30, 2011 Report Share Posted April 30, 2011 Your dog is only young and a pup as the majority says you should, get a greater bond with your dog, work on jumping, bike rides keeping it fit, recall, getting it steady with and also letting it rest, you worry about wasting time? personally i have no experienced hunting and my dog is 3 Years old and has not been hunted yet, have i wasted time yes i have, but im still willing to wait 5months to run him on fitter rabbits and when he gets it he actually deserves it, just saying im just spending as much time as i can learning more and seeing what i can with my dog untill summer ends and season starts! just my opinion, atb with what you do either way and with all the hard ground does save them injury Quote Link to post
