danw 1,748
Your dog is only young and a pup as the majority says you should, get a greater bond with your dog, work on jumping, bike rides keeping it fit, recall, getting it steady with and also letting it rest, you worry about wasting time? personally i have no experienced hunting and my dog is 3 Years old and has not been hunted yet, have i wasted time yes i have, but im still willing to wait 5months to run him on fitter rabbits and when he gets it he actually deserves it, just saying im just spending as much time as i can learning more and seeing what i can with my dog untill summer ends and season starts! just my opinion, atb with what you do either way and with all the hard ground does save them injury Don't take this the wrong way Patrick but if your dog is 3 years old and never hunted, you shouldn't be handing out advice to anyone. That's bollocks baw. A man can never hunt, and can have a better take on it than a man that tries to do it everyday. The kids got the right attitude, and has learnt a lot, without any experience, shouldn't that be somewhat embarrassing for those who still don't get it after having dogs for decades? And i think it was an opinion not advise anyway, which you of all folk should understand. So you think someone who has never hunted should be handing out advice on how to hunt? Just verify that for me please incase I'm mistaken... f**k me baw if verification of hunting experience was a prerequisite of posting on the lurcher forum it would be very quite in here LOL  :whistling: Quote Link to post

darren lurcher 4
There is a lot off fighting on here about summer hunting. Most off the coursing lads and fox lads would not dare go out this time off the year but there is lots off people on here that hunt rabbits all year round. What l was wondering what happenings if you have pup like myself at 10 months old do you just walk it and keep it fit until the season which is 5 months away or do you hunt with the pup though the summer so it knows what it is doing before the season starts. 5 months not doing nothing with a pup is a lot off time wasted on the pup and your self so just wondering what people think Hows things pal i under stand wat your sayin im not fond of people hunting jurin the summer ya have to let animals breed for the hunting season but in jour circumstances id hunt durin the summer at lease then when september comes your pup will benefit from its first season cause ya now yourself as soon as the season starts its over just as quick and in my opinion the first season is the most important thanks Quote Link to post
coney clucky 93
99% of summer hunters are failed winter hunters.......FACT Two usual excuses for hunting in the summer....1.Pest Control.2.Bringing a pup on Truth of the matter is most of them haven't got the dogs to consistantley do well in winter so they hunt in the summer to massage their ego's. what planet you on mate been doing this 20 plus years pal and never heard such utter shite dont know you but thats total shite theirs no c**t do as much lamping up my way winter or summer and when me dogs on form all run him with the best of them not saying a got the best but hold me own you see theirs them who do it and them who talks each to their own pall but thats shite huntings is hunting summer or winter rather do a bit in summer than sit slagging dog lads for doing it ps each to their own and not having a swipe mate just my veiws as was them yours :notworthy: I'm sorry mate didn't know you were the messiah of hunting no messiah mate just hunt all year round love it dont have to masage my ego either people do their own thing mines to get out when i can what takes your fancy You crack on massaging your ego........I don't know you either but you sound like "the man" And by the sound of your reply I hit a nerve Quote Link to post
