markha 99
I have had a few Hawke scopes, my current one being the SR12 reticle 6-18x44AO and my last one being the top of the range 30mm tube sidewinder tactical. Hawke optics are very bright for the money, I was comparing my current scope with another one of my scopes, a Bushnell trophy 3-9x40 the other day, yes the Bushnell is a little brighter even though its 4mm less objective size, but the Bushnell scope is a lot more cash than the Hawke. To be honest I got rid of the sidewinder for a couple of reasons, one was that it didnt hold zero too well, this may have been a dodgy scope and perhaps sent back to Hawke, however I just got fed up of high zoom and then having to paralax all the time, it was not a great hunting scope, so I bought the Bushnell, great scope, a lot less zoom than I had before but still more than uesable at airgun ranges even with the loopy rainbow of a .22. I did however hanker for a little more zoom and saw my present scope at a ridiculous price and though stuff it thats a bargain and got one. Fantastic scope. Quote Link to post
markha 99
I meant to add this : its not always about big objective lenses and magnification, more important is the exit pupil size for your eyes. Quote Link to post
