I've never owned a Labrador but I can still judge whether one would catch a hare

 

I don't think there is a cross I don't like, all bred for a purpose. Some better in some parts of the country compared to others. You really need to know your terrain and your quarry and get the type that suits. It's people who see 'big names' at stud and think they'll do the business everywhere that are foolish.
