hey there, i already have a shotgun license and i am thinking to be applying for my firearms license soon. i do not really have much of a clue about rifles, calibers and what gun is used for what quarry though. is there any websites or books that could help and learn about rifles and there uses. any advice is welcome from yourselves to. thanks in advance :)

you will find all on the internet.dicide what quarry you are shooting and re ask the question on this forum.rabbits = .22lr or .17 hmr then its off to google and start trawling through you will learn masses.the sporting rifle is a good book!

ok mate i will do since u asked :)

im looking for something for birds, rabbits etc so a rimfire is a definate, i dont know much about the 17hmr. im also wanting something for roe deer as i have alot on my permission that the farmer would like taken care of

you will be needing two differebt rifles then.i trust when you say birds you mean on the ground with a good backstop or you are looking for an fac air rifle a rimfire and a centerfire.(good luck on the lotto on sat) :laugh: lucky git with the roe deer,not sure which calibre would be best.i am sure someone will advise.once again check out google video type .17 vs .22lr and check out what they are capable of.
