just a quick quiz just to test your hound skills. Below are 3 calls. Can anyone tell me what they are? I know, but just a friendly quiz to start a bit of a topic.

The correct answers are

where did you get those answers? gone to ground is traditionally 3 long blows. there is no need to give sharp blast for that as in calls to get hounds moving. different huntsman blow different calls for terriermen but generally not the above. normally 1 long 3 short or 3 repation of the call for a whip.

I have to agree that those answers are wrong.

A long blow on the horn means gone to ground. 3 long blows is sending for the terrierman.

2 short and 1 long blow is the kill.

The only one I wasn't 100% about was the last one as our huntsman tends not to blow for home as he always says huntings not finished 'till hounds are loaded.

the anwsers are spot on i think, 1,the find 2,terrierman not the mark thats different again. 3, goneaway.
