as soon as ye leave the footpath yer trespassing if the farmer dont mind ye being there why not just ask him for some permission...then you can lamp to your own content

No offence mate, but i'm not exactly a 'smart arse' - a public footpath is for walking, it give you permission to walk across somewhere. It doesn't give you permission to hunt game, mine for coal, build a house, dig a grave or f**k all else but walking. I thought the function of a footpath was fairly well known, and the name was a bit of a giveaway. Like, i have permission to walk through hyde park any day i like right? But i expect they would get a bit funny about me setting up of an eve with a caller and a lurcher and running foxes across it even if there was no ban.

Best advice ask the farmer, look presentable and be polite, also expect a let down as he may have someone on there already. By the way I've just removed one post that someone put up about basically poaching the place and getting in there, people shouldn't be putting that sort of information on the internet, it makes us all look bad to anyone reading.. DO things the right way, it doesn't take long to get a bad reputation or the blame for someone elses wrong doing if you don't especially local to yourself.Just tell him you walk the dog through the walkway, he likes rabbiting, and hes been catching a few... ask if its ok as sometimes he comes off the footpath, he might say get on with it lad, you've broke the ice then, give it a while, gain some trust and ask if you can lamp later on down the line.
