Certainly not at 11 months old? What makes you think this is even an idea worth considering? Give her four or five seasons hard graft, see how she turns out and maybe then you could think again eh?

when you know its a handy dog and its proven itself.if its just an average dog then dont breed unless you want to keep the line going for sentimental reasons

my take on it is this, a bitch regardless of how she's bred or how good a confornation she's got or how nice she is, has to prove she's worthy of breeding, and by that i mean graft and plenty of it, at least 4 full seasons under her belt. too many folk putting untested dogs or unachieving dogs over untested or under achieving bitches just to make a fast buck. you want nowt breeding off a 11month old bitch in my opinion

7 year old was when I breed my bitch for first time. then 8 then 9 year old a vet would have a fit about that and no doubt some of the dog kissers on here too.

 

by 7 she was more than proven and went on killing hares up till she was 9. if it werent a working lurcher (ie a ped to make a few quid) id breed at second full season as thats when a bitch is ready.

 

I only breed out of tested workers, but I dont have a problem with people breeding poodles or yorkies for money if theres a ready market of fools fair play. theres so many who are so anti breeding on this site it gives me the sick, so judgemental and stuck up.
