porkypowell 2
Hi, My name is Simon age early 30s Born on in Wales just over the border from Hereford (still there) I have been involved in country sports since an early age. Lots of time spent chasing coney and charlie with a bit of mink rat work. Dogs are my love and lurchers being top of a list consisting of terriers, sprockers & beagles. I used to own and work a pack of the above dogs as well as beloved ferrets without theses warriors a days rabbiting would be quiet. Alas I know own three kids all under 10 and a wonderful wife who loves dogs and would make a top class kennel hand. The only dog I kept when I closed down my kennels is an old sprocker who was top class ferreting dog but is retired to the sofa in the office. The ray of light is a first cross sprocker/collie understand this is a family pet hence the strange mix but i figured I wouldn't be to tempted to do anything with this dog, but old habits die hard and she is starting to work bunnies really well and might just have enough speed to catch a bunny every once in a while. I have no desire to kill big numbers of rabbits been there and done that but the occasional bunny would make taking her for a walk more worth while. I might get a couple of jills in the summer and make a couple of nets. I found my locator collar and box the other day and the urge is growing stronger every day. I have been looking at my old spaniel and thinking I might get a lurcher when the day comes to help with the loss. Always fancied a hancock 3/4 collie/ghreyhound as they where the dog about 12years ago. A dog to do a bit of lamping rabbits and fox and a bit of bushing/ferreting. Anyway that's far to much about my self apologies for going on a bit but it make using the forums easier. I`ll keep an eye on this forum and hopefully some off you lot will send me over the edge and get me back where I belong. Simon Quote Link to post
