Tomm Parr 30
My venom viper jammed this morning when i was zeroing. I think it was a misshapen pellet that i missed as i loaded the 2 shot magazine. It was the first shot zeroing at a 3 inch target and i hadn't fired the rifle for a few weeks, so i didn't think much of it when there was no hit. I fired the second shot without realising. Again, no hit and then i realised. Now i have 2 pellets rattling about in there when i cock the bolt; i can't hear them when i slide the bolt forward as if to fire. I'm a bit scared to dismantle it: I'm just getting back into shooting after a few quiet years and i haven't stripped one for ages and i'm worried about the canister. Any ideas? If you look into the hole where the filling probe goes there should be a screw which secures the barrel shroud to the air cylinder, undo this and pull the shroud away from the gun it should slide off. Now take the scope off and there should be 4 grub screws, undo these and the barrel should slide out of the breach and give you access to where the pellets are stuck. Im telling you this on the bases that the webley venom viper is the one based upon the webley raider, if not completly ignore this. Richard Quote Link to post

I haven't been able to do anytthing yet: Its not a screw in the filling probe hole, its a tiny alan key slot. I don't have alan keys small enough so am waiting to borrow some. Then i'll have a crack at it and let you know. My VV is 9y old by the way, not 13y (don't know where i git that from.) cheers Quote Link to post

Before dismantling, the gun fired, though with seeming reduced power. I didn't put pellets in because i thought there was a jam. I first fired about empty shots, to empty the cylinder, as i was worried about a pressure release if i messed up. Now, I've removed the shroud, scope, 2 shot magazine. I haven't removed the barrel as i can see it is clear. I haven't removed the barrel housing as i can only see one screw atop, which does not fully release the housing from the cylinder anyway. However I can't see any point in removing the housing, unless i've missed something. There are no pellets stuck in the magazine, barrel or breach. The rifle still fires. The rattling still occurs when i pull back the bolt to cock the rifle but stops when the bolt is shut, as if to fire. I haven't put the rifle back together yet as the rattling is still present. I am starting to get distressed as the rifle is my pride and joy. Perhaps a problem with the air transfer system? Any ideas are much appreciated. Edited May 8, 2011 by Tomm Parr Quote Link to post

No difference, the rattle is still there and when fully charged, the power seems to vary shot to shot, though is never at full power.... Help needed! Quote Link to post
