ferretman89 68
Oryt lads/lasses i am after some new reel line. Would be looking at 15lb line not braid. Does anybody know of any good line that they would reccomend. I am looking at some fast sinking line, but nothing too thick that they fish are going to be able to see. Thanks Quote Link to post

WILF 47,199
i always use daiwa sensor mate cheap as chips and tough as old rope you won't go far wrong Very true, especially if you are filling big reels Quote Link to post
ferretman89 68
what you recon then clear or brown. Is it a thin line and its for pit reels so plenty needed lol Quote Link to post
knocker76 40
i always use brown myself it comes on 4oz spools so you can do 3 spools if you put about 150 yds on each just leave some old stuff on for backing and top up with new stuf Quote Link to post
ferretman89 68
They are brand new reels so i will just put new on both. Does the line sink well too, as i dont really like using back leads? I looked on ebay its about £5 is that about the going rate? Thanks for help Quote Link to post
knocker76 40
yeah sinks well, sounds like a good price usually pay 5 or 6 quid from the tackle shop, thing is aswell cause its that cheap you can change it every couple of months and it don't cost an arm and a leg Quote Link to post
WILF 47,199
Dont worry too much about how thick your line is, other than pre-stretched its all much of a muchness........3 or 4 feet of lead core will set your mind at rest, and you wont need to worry about the colour. Just as an aside, and it is a very personal thing, I never use backing.....always load back to front, but thats just me. Quote Link to post
keymac88 8
Fox camo 12lb cant go wrong its broken coloured to make it less distinctive and realy strong i pulled a 57lb catish out with this as for backleds i defo recomend these you want as much of your line as flat to the floor as possible Quote Link to post
jmilam08 193
I use to use daiwa sensor the reason I stopped was I didn't think the abbrasivnes of the line was much kop( I'm sure that's the right word)basiclly I found it to eava suffer line twist or cut offs. I did start using twenty pound x line as a leader but now I've spooled all my reels with the xline in 15pnd,the bollox for medium range fishing the line sinks like a stone and dissapears. It's alot dearer to spool up big pits with the fluro rather than mono that's the big downside, daiwa sensor shoud see you right though mate. Quote Link to post

watchman 256
just to add, dont go with iron silk, good sinking line but it doesnt suit a lot of fishing knots, knotless knot in particular just snaps time after time, well it did for me anyway Quote Link to post
