Neal 1,873 Posted April 28, 2011 Report Share Posted April 28, 2011 My best ferreting dog (or the best dog that I take ferreting ) is a 17" pure kelpie bitch. Very determined, great attention span, never had an injury(only one visit to the vet for her initial jabs), faultless nose and invariably makes the right choice; which occasionaly means having to ignore her stupid owner. On the negative side: she's not fast enough for rabbits in the open, but that doesn't bother me too much as there's not a lot of "open" around here, and she makes a hell of a noise when she's outpaced.
