nothing wrong with putting day old unwated kits to sleep . not my stile but mates done it years ago before the feching show people got there murky hands on them, keep the ones you need and pts sleep surplus ,its cruel but rather do that than some silly pet home of not looked after properly

Im with you on this one mate I only breed when I need to I let some go 4 years ago to find out that they was not looked after properly but this year i.ve got working home for the ones im not keeping

I hope that all these kits have homes? If not that will be more in rescue....just what they need....NOT. A local rescue near me in Kent has at least 100 ferrets for rehoming so no need to breed!!!! I am sure there are other rescues with just as many. They all need homes.

This is what gets me let me put it to you like this. THEY ARE MY LINE OF WORKING FERRET WHY WOULD I BUY SOMEONE ELSES SHIT Simples. I am breeding to add to my stock and nothing more Don't tar everyone with the same brush. The ones that are in it for the money are sadly mistaken if you think you can turn a profit because if feed properly and looked after they cost a small fortune much much more than the tenner you may get for them if you want to preach to folk join a church.

i would be happy for one or a couple of kits to go to a pet home as long as they had company and are handled very often, one kit went to a pet home and it has a better life then a domestic cat! the ferret jill is spayed and lives in the living room, has a litter tray which she uses, and sleeps on owners lap like a cat, has company of another ferret who has the same treatment and both are very happy, when i retire my workers she'll be the first person called, if not they'll live the rest of their days with me. the ferret is an underated worker!!

my jill is due in a week, the earliest i have ever had a litter, the jill is a great mum and is chilled out and lets me handle them from a week old so there easy to tame, my daughter will be keeping a kit as a pet too as her one got attacked by neighbours dog! :( she was heartbroken,, but luckily the jill had been lined so my daughter shall have first pick! and keep two for working, the rest will be rehomed

all the very best xx

well said mate! i agree that it tis sad that so many ferrets end up in rescue but its not everyones fault and when healthy the little kits eat you out of house and home! no way can money be made when cared for properly! i am proud that i bred from my own stock and seen how parents work and know the temperments expected, and the kits get tame to me from an early age which makes them suitable for my daughter to handle when out rabbiting! when buying in your just getting someone elses mistake with the odd exception, we all started by buying in, and of course need to add new blood but only worker to worker is best not angora or similar rubbish
