scottish lurcher 185 Posted February 10, 2007 Report Share Posted February 10, 2007 (edited) i see there is a whippet lure coursing event on here there should be more lure coursing for lurchers up here in scotland would be a great way to met other folk who love to run there lurchers legal and also great for all dogs concered also be good to find whos got fastest lurcher and compare all bread of lurcher seems to me unless it kc reg you can forget it after all it about watching ur dog run well not if it kc reg seems to me to many folk look down there nose at the simple lurcher or on kc reg whippets which i have never met one that cant fill the cooking pot we somthing Edited February 10, 2007 by scottish lurcher Quote Link to post

If you start having prize money you would end up with dogs that were practiclly pure greyhound being entered. Still, it would be a good way to meet other like minded people. Quote Link to post

parkstone 24 Posted February 10, 2007 Report Share Posted February 10, 2007 Hi Scottish lurcher, i've been running lure coursing meetings for about 5 years now, as I have KC whippets we run them for KC whippets but often have dogs that are not KC but are of obvious whippet size ect. in the past I was asked to run lure coursing for lurchers and even advertised them on here, ........... and a few other site. we got a full 16 dog lurcher stake, unfortunatly I didnt have it prepaid and come the day, programme printed up ect and guess what! yep only 2 lurchers turned up both owned by the same person. So after that and a few simlar experiances i'm reluctant to put meetings on for lurchers as i've been let down to many times. Quote Link to post
