OldTrapCollector 377
Thanks for the advice on the needles fellas - they are the ones I want. As for shaped nets, I always stay the same all the way down the net - 16 meshes wide on a 3 foot net and 18 on a 4 foot net. OTC Quote Link to post

sfj 0
Hi. Just got my sample cards from engel and co,i was just wondering who has ordered from this company as i have just spoken to a chap who said i needed a tax id number to order from him (i take it he means vat number?) which i dont have as i dont have my own company. The prices would be subject to a 19% vat charge if no vat number was given.Anyone else had this problem?? It looks very good material though, think i will get a kilo each of 20/21 and 20/36 polyester. sean. Quote Link to post

Also when you purchase from Engel you have to pay via IBAN (bank transfer) different banks have different charges they are 18 euros per kilo + vat + iban charge plus delivery Thanks for the advice on the needles fellas - they are the ones I want. As for shaped nets, I always stay the same all the way down the net - 16 meshes wide on a 3 foot net and 18 on a 4 foot net. OTC As Duckwing says you are wasting a hell of a lot of twine shape them and get more nets per kilo Edited February 15, 2007 by gypo joe Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
As Duckwing says you are wasting a hell of a lot of twine shape them and get more nets per kilo How many meshes do you start with and go out to then? 10 at the ring out to 18 meshes in the middle? You dont need anything like that mate, just put your order in the shop you will get a bill through your email, tell them you are sending cash and just go to the travel agents and change the amount of euros over then send it from the post office and insure it for the amount of money in there, it only costs about £4 to send it with Royal mail. It really is that easy Nathan Added to say, its worth ordering larger amounts from them, because you get a diccount after a certain amount. I ordered 10 kilos of spun polyester and a kilo of spun nylon. it only took under a week from the day i sent the money to the goods arriving Quote Link to post
sfj 0
Thanks for that nathan. Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
Nathan, How is that net of yours coming along? Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
Having made a few nice nets now out of my delivery of spun poly from Engel I think I prefer the 20/24 (as you quite rightly said I would MC). It knits well and fast. The 20/36 is nice twine for the thick bramble patches but I think it is a bit too heavy for general work and I wonder how the nets will handle when they get soaked through . . I might make up some light fox nets with the 20/36 and see how they look. I got a pack of 6 needles from Deben too and they are just the job. Thanks for the help fellas OTC Quote Link to post
