Spun Polyester Net Making twine

Recommended Posts

Fellas,

I have just got my sample card from Engel & Co and am now confused as to which one to use for purse net making. The card has got 20/6, 20/9, 20/15, 20/18, 20/21, 20/24 and 20/36 on it. To me the 20/36 looks like the most useful. What do you guys use?

How many nets can you get out of a kilo? One other thing - do you have to double knot spun polyester?

WELL LADS ,

IAM ON WITH MAKING SPUN POLY NETS AT THE MOMENT , QUITE NICE STUFF ......... FIELD TESTED A FEW WITH WIRE TOGGLES AND THEY WERE SPOT ON :victory:

I ALWAYS HAVE MADE SHAPED PURSE NETS AND REALLY DO PREFER FOUR FOOTERS AS STANDARD AS WELL AS A FEW OVER FIVE FOOTERS DOUBLE PEGGED IN THE BAG

HOWEVER , IMO ....... ITS WORTH DOUBLE KNOTTING " ANY " TWINE , THERES NOTHING WORSE THAN SPENDING TIME ON A NET TO FIND A LOOSE MESH MOVING UNDER PRESSURE ...... AFTER ALL WHAT EXTRA TIME DOES IT TAKE ?

ALL THE BEST

DUCKWING ;)

Gypo joe, that Nagaura twine, how do you find it when using in the field as i heard somewhere on here that it has a fair bit of stretch. Does this meen it is adviserble to knit smaller mesh ? may pm you regarding a purchase and some prices ;)

Ive knitted plenty of nets with and i dont find it as stretchy

as most spuns i use the same mesh board for all my nets

and i aint lost anything out of them ;)

Cheers for the help with the spun poly twine, now for something else I would like to find . . .

Who sells the white smooth plastic netting needles these days? I don't want the yellow ridged cheapo affairs I want the original smooth white plastic ones, suitable for knitting rabbit nets and passing through a 1" ring, about 9 or 10" long.

Anyone know where from and how much?

Your help is greatly appreciated :signthankspin:
