OldTrapCollector 377
Fellas, I have just got my sample card from Engel & Co and am now confused as to which one to use for purse net making. The card has got 20/6, 20/9, 20/15, 20/18, 20/21, 20/24 and 20/36 on it. To me the 20/36 looks like the most useful. What do you guys use? How many nets can you get out of a kilo? One other thing - do you have to double knot spun polyester? OTC Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
spun poly makes grand nets, no need to double knot. most use the 20/24 as the nets are a little lighter and work just as well as the heavier 20/36. as for how many depends on how long your nets will be. 1kilo should make (at a guess) at least 15plus nets Quote Link to post
Guest gypo joe
I USE THE 20/21 AND IT MAKES GREAT NETS FROM 1 KILO I GET APPROX 50 X 1M NETS (SHAPED) Quote Link to post

DUCKWING 302
WELL LADS , IAM ON WITH MAKING SPUN POLY NETS AT THE MOMENT , QUITE NICE STUFF ......... FIELD TESTED A FEW WITH WIRE TOGGLES AND THEY WERE SPOT ON I ALWAYS HAVE MADE SHAPED PURSE NETS AND REALLY DO PREFER FOUR FOOTERS AS STANDARD AS WELL AS A FEW OVER FIVE FOOTERS DOUBLE PEGGED IN THE BAG HOWEVER , IMO ....... ITS WORTH DOUBLE KNOTTING " ANY " TWINE , THERES NOTHING WORSE THAN SPENDING TIME ON A NET TO FIND A LOOSE MESH MOVING UNDER PRESSURE ...... AFTER ALL WHAT EXTRA TIME DOES IT TAKE ? ALL THE BEST DUCKWING Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
How do you use the wire toggles? Any chance of pics? I have always used 1" steel/nickel rings but am open to experimentation, if the ideas work then I will use them. Thanks for the feedback so far OTC Quote Link to post
