DottyDoo 500
if ye get kitts soon, an most will be born soon, then ye can work them come sept, or when the undergrowth is doon, but they will still be young an may take a season or 2 even to become proper workers 1 Quote Link to post
shabadoodoo 16
i would get kits, handle them all the time so they get used to you and when it comes to season u will be laughing, but sept will still have alot of young rabbits about so i would wait till end of october, and get a locater and collar Quote Link to post

marty42 18
if your new to ferreting.you would be better of to use just one ferret incase you could lose one.a small jill would be better than a buck.hobs have a better chance of making a kill in the burrow and layin up.and the feret finder is realy handy incase your ferret makes a kill in the burrow. Elmer Fudd 2011 39
try and go with someone who as done it befor to get you off to a good start Quote Link to post
The one 8,460
You need to do your research before you think what ferrets to get jills will come into season every spring and you have to look at a snipped hob, the jill jab or breeding from them . you get hobs and they come into season and your looking at separating them . Other than that a nice set up is two jills in with a snipped hob . But as said see if somebody in your location has ferrets and will let you tag along . Quote Link to post
superfurryanimal 91
how young are the ferts ? don't know if you've got any children if so let them play with them, nothing worst than young ferts that havn't been handled a.t.b sfa Quote Link to post
