john robbo 30
Been south and north on a litle jolly. *dance* Down flopped a bit on the deer the munties been very elusive (for me anyway). the tally was 4 but I just shot 2 foxes, 1 with the shottie and one with the 6.5 from the high seat. Didn't get one of the shotgunned 1 my phone was dead. -HB- Then monday morning at work before going nth. Then north among the fallow finally shooting 9 with 2 crackers. The first good buck, then my biggest to date This lad was neck shot free hand at 50m's and went down so I tried to get a pricket which never offered a shot -HB- When to my horror he big lad stood up and fell forward...Not good with a neck shot! The exit of the neck shot clipping bone but not breaking the spine. The bullet path after the exit along the beasts back *aaaa* He hit the pig net fence and tangled up the only follow up I had was a head shot ...free hand again. Without thinking about the antlers I fired killing him instantly. But I was so lucky I never blew off his anler though there is not much skull left. -HB- In out After neck shooting a pricket using a massive oak tree as an immediatebackstop the bullet hit the centre of the tree. 1 Quote Link to post
crazycanuck 3
Good read! Just goes to show, now matter how good you can shoot and how much experience you have, things don't always go as planned. The good thing is you were able to finish the job. Good work! Quote Link to post
