On a tangent - Lurchers are now the 3rd most 'popular' dog in rescue, that is to say, after staffies and greyhounds, lurchers are 3rd most prevalent. Pretty sad - but certainly no surprise. Some folk seem to thing getting shot of a dog, at the first hurdle, problem or failure is the easiest route. Get rid and then get another. And they'll have no hesitation in bigging themselves up as 'dogmen'!!! I reckon a true dogman is the guy who learns to adapt and work around a dog's faults and foibles (and they all have them) and accepts that these same faults and foibles may be a measure of his own shortcomings!!!!
