headshot 0
hi, im thinking of applying for my shotgun ticket, but just wondering if its worth it or not as i have a crimnal record, and after speaking to a few people some said i would be wasting my time, and others say im not. i havnt been to prison or nothing like that, and the offences where minor, however i do have 1 assault charge but that was over four years ago. just wondered if any of you lads on here have been in same boat and what was the outcome? cheers Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Can't say I'm in the same boat, but it is always worth applying as you don't lose anything by doing so. If your application is refused, your money is refunded in any case. There are plenty of people out there with some form of record who also have SGCs and the only way you'll know either way is to apply. You need to be able to demonstrate some reform of character for instance some form of responsibility since the offenses i.e. kids etc Quote Link to post

Dan_Smiff 2
Be honest about everything on the forms and in your interview and you might be ok. You will need to come decent person who's not likely to behave in the way you did 4 years ago - if they think you have a good, responsible attitude to guns and the safe use thereof then great, if they suspect you've not changed much and your attitude sucks then it'll likely be a no. Best of luck - being a gun owner actually helps you to stay out of trouble, knowing that if you mishave you lose the lot. 1 Quote Link to post
